Don Bosco Tech Society (Hassan) organized an International Women's Day on March 07, 2020. Fr. Dominic Savio (Director, Don Bosco Hassan) Ms. Geetha (Lecturer, Don Bosco ITI College, Hassan) made the program delightful with their presence as the chief guests for the day.

The program moved its first step with a prayer song, beautifully sung by trainees while Mr. Ranjan (Trainer, Retail Sales) welcomed the guests. Cutomerailly, the program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by all the dignitaries.  

Fr. Dominic Savio underlined the importance of women's day with a motivational speech to introspect women’s life in the sphere of economic independence, self-reliance as they are the core values of the family which calls for a strong foundation for gender equality. He stressed saying, “It is the hour of women’s need to venture into skilling and equipping. And thus getting a lucrative job in the society.” 
Ms. Geetha spoke at length and breadth about women's rights in society said, “Women have a vision to get justice.” She continued, “They need to be treated equally with men.” Ms. Geeth cited some empowering-rights for women i.e. reservation for women; for education, jobs, politics, and so on. 

The day was seen with several alumni who addressed the gathering who mentioned that ‘the status of women in society is held high today. They are ahead of men in every sphere of life, be it education, job and so on. Hence, they are treading a better life than men. Thus, they deserved to be respected well.’

To make the celebration colorful, there was seen traditional, ‘Rangoli’ (festival of harvest) and essay competition. At the end of the day, the winners were given away a prize each.
The celebration wouldn't have complete had there been a no screening of short women based motivational film; showcasing their role in society and then stand up against all those who underestimated the power of women. 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Shylaja (Trainer, CE & ITES).
